OpenAI releases plugins for ChatGPT – without a waiting list, but only for people who have a paid Plus account. More than 70 extensions are said to complement the conversational AI. You can complete tasks such as making lists, doing calculations, or making an entry. These include Coupert, a service that searches for coupons on the Internet, or One Word Domains, a plugin that, among other things, checks whether domains are free. Because of a leak, it had already become known that around 80 plugins were waiting to be released.

However, another new feature should make ChatGPT much more practical, namely access to the web. OpenAI has “Browsing” in the blog post announced as an alpha version. So far, the chatbot is only up to date from 2021. In addition, there is the data that is played back through conversations. With the opening to the web, the service can then process online information from all websites. This function should be available this week – but it is not yet available to people we know of. Not everyone with a Plus account can access the other plugins either.

Of course, Microsoft’s new Bing search, which includes a version of ChatGPT, can already search the Internet and is open to everyone. Google’s competitor product Bard also uses the web – but cannot yet be tested in Germany and Europe.

The Code Interpreter can still only be reached via a waiting list. A plugin that OpenAI developed itself. This not only allows you to create code like ChatGPT, but also Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Copilot, but also execute it at the same time. The Code Interpreter does what its name suggests, it interprets data: For example, it can be used to evaluate large amounts of data and create graphics. Unlike the software previously used for this purpose, it does not require umpteen targeted clicks and no complicated instructions, ChatGPT reacts in natural language: “Create diagrams.” and “Make these charts prettier.” When analyzing entered data, the code interpreter also needs little guidance, rather it can show the user what is in the data.

When the Code Interpreter will be available is unknown. So far very few people seem to have access.
