The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for more than a year — ever since Vladimir Putin ordered a “special military operation” on Ukrainian soil in February 2022—and in the midst of the unleashed consequences, the President Volodimir Zelensky sent a message to Mexico.
A message that resonated directly in the Chamber of Deputies, in the context of a meeting with the Mexico-Ukraine Friendship Group and whose objective was amplify the requests that Ukraine has made to the world, Latin America and now to Mexico to end this war.
The message that Volodimir Zelensky sent to Mexico about the war in Ukraine
The truth is that the message was not long at all, but it was direct. President Volodymyr Zelensky went against Russia, calling “hypocrite” Vladimir Putin’s government and asking, in general, Mexico to support Ukraine.
In what way or how? Through voting in the UN General Council or in more regional agreements in Latin America.
Also, the President of Ukraine recounted what a war has been for this country that has been standing for more than a year. Here is part of the message that Volodimir Zelenski sent to Mexico:
“We have traveled different paths and we speak different languages, but we also have something that allows us to understand each other, our hearts, Ukrainians and Mexicans, ache equally when we see innocent lives being taken, taken by cruel violence, there where true peace can reign.
Are we not united by the dream of safety and tranquility in all the streets of all our cities?
Zelenski denounced before deputies, deputies and the Ukrainian ambassador in Mexico the reports of missile attacks on civilian targets such as churches or train stations, artillery attacks and even torture cellars against the people of Ukraine in the areas invaded by the army From Russia.
Quite crude words that you can check for yourselves here, in this video of Volodimir Zelenski’s message (if you want to skip the protocol of the deputies, the message begins at minute 2’28, so you can click on it):
