Regarding the importance of the sector in the state, the PICSP explained that in the entity there are 124 units with a mining business that generate 11 thousand 336 formal jobs in the state that receive an average of 26 thousand 376.5 pesos per month, this according to IMSS figures analyzed.

Meanwhile, he said, mining is the third sector with the highest acquisition of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), reaching 119.1 million dollars in 2022. Currently, 509 students are studying mining-related careers such as Mining Engineering and Metallurgy, Engineering in Geology and Engineering in Geosciences.

In 2022, Chihuahua ranked second in the country in lead production, reaching 35,646 tons; the second national place in silver production with one million 354 thousand 241 kg and the fifth place of gold when accounting for 15 thousand 902 kg.
