China is an essential territory for any multinational. Gaming or cinema, the industries are not immune to the country led by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) where censorship reigns. After several years of absence, Marvel Studios, owned by Disney, finally has the right to broadcast its films on the territory.
And not just any since it is about Black Panther 2which arrives on February 1 on Disney+ but not in France, and Ant Man 3.

When will Marvel return to China?
It’s the end of the unofficial ban on Marvel movies in Chinese cinemas. In a territory with a large ready-to-eat population, this absence was damaging for Disney and its box office. But today we learn that Black Panther 2 and Ant Man 3 both have Chinese release dates. The end of a period of absenteeism since 2019. To celebrate this release, Marvel Studios published a video on Weibo, a Chinese social network (Facebook and others are prohibited there).
The Chinese will discover Black Panther 2 from February 7 against February 17 for Ant Man 3. Double dose of Marvel for viewers in this country who appreciate the great show if we are to believe their importance to film studios. The latest Marvel movies airing in China are Spider-Man: Far From Home (in partnership with Sony) and Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Why was Marvel banned in China?
But why such distrust of Marvel films? Rumor has it that Chinese government agencies feared they would be looked down upon if granted permission. But now that the CCP’s National Congress and its 100th anniversary have passed, geopolitical issues would be less tense.
