The latest free title is the sci-fi role-playing game Encased. While the Early Access version was released in 2019, the full version was not released until September 2021. Developed by Dark Crystal Games, Encased is set in an alternate, post-apocalyptic reality during the 1970s. According to Neowin the title offers several storylines as well as possible endings. The gameplay is inspired by classic RPGs like Fallout, Wasteland and Shadowrun.
Promotion runs until January 5th
If you didn’t manage to install Encased in time, you can download another title from 5 p.m. According to speculation, this is an offshoot of the Metro series. Epic Games started delivering a new game daily on December 15th. From 5 p.m., users then have 24 hours to start the download. A new game will then be offered. The available titles are always full versions.
The promotion runs until January 5, so that new games will also be unlocked at the turn of the year. Which titles are involved will only be announced shortly beforehand. However, a teaser in the form of a gift wrap often brings with it hints as to which game could then be released later in the day. Games from the previous days include “Wolfenstein: The New Order”, “Lego Builder’s Journey”, “Horizon Chase Turbo” as well as three different Fallout titles.
