J. Robert Oppenheimer was a complex figure who embodied both scientific genius and the deep moral dilemmas associated with his work on the Manhattan Project and his involvement in creating the first atomic bomb.

Nolan explains: “Learning about his story through the book ‘American Prometheus,’ it became clear that his life is one of the most dramatic I’ve ever known. I was excited to engage viewers in his vision, in his mind, so that the audience doesn’t judge him, but understands him.”

The filmmaker reveals that, when writing the film’s script, he remains disciplined and does not think about specific actors. According to Nolan, doing so would limit creativity and result in work that simply follows that actor’s previous patterns.

‘Oppenheimer’ was shot using a combination of 65mm IMAX format and 65mm large format motion picture film, and includes black and white IMAX analogue footage.

Nolan’s filmography, which includes films such as ‘Tenet’, ‘Dunkirk’, ‘Interstellar’, ‘Inception’ and the ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy, has grossed more than $5 billion at the box office worldwide.

The cast of ‘Oppenheimer’ includes renowned stars such as Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Kenneth Branagh, Florence Pugh, Casey Affleck, Ben Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Jason Clarke and Rami Malek, along with Cillian Murphy.
