Chrono Odyssey, a promising online role-playing game for PC and console, was announced two years ago. The project has been pretty quiet since then, but now the developer NPixel is back with a first gameplay trailer and new details about the game.
The world of Setera…
Open fantasy world
Chrono Odyssey transports players to the world of Setera, which has become the scene of a conflict between five warring powers. These include the Guardians known as Seteras or the Void, immortal invaders from another world. With the World Movers, we also get to know a faction that had to flee their ancestral home after the attack of the Void. Combat will be a big part of Chrono Odyssey, with NPixel promising an intuitive real-time combat system. Designed to combine attack, defense and dodge, each of the six playable classes – Swordsman, Ranger, Mage, Paladin, Berserker and Assassin – has unique abilities. The hero’s appearance, clothing and gender can be adapted in a variety of ways, which is typical of the genre.
The power of time manipulation
Another highlight of Chrono Odyssey is the Chronotector, which is owned by the player. This ancient and powerful artifact is capable of manipulating time and space, which should come in handy not only when exploring the open world, but also in combat. For example, the time can be frozen or rewound for a short time with the Chronotector. The gameplay trailer that has now been released shows what that looks like.
Chrono Odyssey is based on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but there is no concrete release date yet.
