“More than anything because of the simplicity that he had, apart from that he had that quality. Very simply, when he talked to you he did it as if he had known you for a long time and that filled him with joy because he imagines that the best player in the world was talking to you”.
“Talk about Pele It is the maximum. I have had the opportunity to play against him. He has always given me the love as a good athlete as well as he was, ”added the American champion in 1975.
Finally, the idol of Universitario de Deportes expressed through tears that he will meet Pelé again in the future, but not on the earthly plane.
“Pele It’s just one, really. Excuse me for putting myself like that, but I valued him very much (…) Let him be in glory and in time we will play a game there. A ‘pichanguita’ there”.
It should be remembered that both footballers met twice in 1970. The first was in the World Cup in Mexico and the second time was in a friendly between Santos and the ‘U’ in Lima.
