Jürgen Klinsmann was present at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. The South Korean national team coach wanted to see his attacking player Heung-Min Son’s form on site. But the ex-forward may have caught a glimpse of Spurs as a whole in the 3-2 defeat by AFC Bournemouth.
Because the ‘kicker’ brings Klinsmann into play as one of the candidates for the post of coach with the Londoners. According to the specialist magazine, the former national coach is also in the draw alongside Brendan Rodgers, Vincent Kompany, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter and Julian Nagelsmann. However, given the prominent competition, choosing pro Klinsmann would come as a big surprise despite his Tottenham past.
The 58-year-old took up his post as national coach of South Korea just two months ago. A farewell after just two international matches would therefore come as a great surprise, despite the sobering results so far (1-2 defeat and 2-2 draw). For Klinsmann, the Spurs job would be the first club station since his inglorious departure from Hertha BSC in spring 2020 and only the third station as a club coach ever.
