Florian Kainz and 1. FC Köln are going into the future together. As the Bundesliga club announced, the contract with the 30-year-old has been extended until 2025. The previous working paper would have expired in 2024.
“Florian is one of our most consistent players and an absolute top performer in our team. He has confirmed his strong form from last season this season. Four goals and five assists in 14 Bundesliga appearances speak for themselves, making him our best scorer at the moment.”praises Christian Keller.
The Cologne managing director continues: “Since his commitment exactly four years ago, he has continued to develop and is now one of our leading players off the field, who identifies 100 percent with FC and our path.”

Kainz himself explains: “I’m very happy to have extended my contract with FC and I’m grateful for the trust placed in me. I would like to take on even more responsibility on and off the field in the future. I’m convinced of the way we play football and I firmly believe that we can play successfully with FC in the Bundesliga in the years to come.”
The Austrian moved from SV Werder Bremen to Cologne in January 2019. Under coach Steffen Baumgart, Kainz is one of the top performers on the offensive.
