Most in-demand Yankees prospect ahead of trade deadline

The New York Yankees are working to move the house before August 1, the day that the MLB trade deadline is set. The team has several big late-season needs and GM Brian Cashman is working on those.

According to various reports, prospect Roderick Arias is one of the most in-demand and could be the piece the Yankees use to cover some holes they have in their lineups.

Arias, 18, is the Yankees’ No. 11 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, but he became the No. 1 international in 2022, when the Dominican signed for $4 million.

The Dominican is compared to Anthony Volpe, although he has more power. Many agents point out that he has a strong arm, along with range and speed. That is, a fairly complete prospect who could leave the organization.

Arias made his debut in LIDOM last season, the Dominican winter league, but suffered a significant wrist injury that affected his performance. This year in Class A he is hitting a .277/.413/.542 offensive line.

Another player who could leave the team is Oswald Peraza, who has been replaced by Anthony Volpe as shortstop for the New York team.
