Computex 2023 officially takes place between May 30th and June 2nd, but, in an event aimed at the global press, the organization of the fair kicked off this Monday (29th) and spoke a little about what we can expect for the next days.
As expected, we will have a big focus on Artificial Intelligence and the impacts that AI can have on our lives, but the fair organized by the Taiwan Foreign Trade Development Council (SHOCKED) and the Taiwan Computer Association (TCE) also brings five other main topics: high-performance computing (HPC), next-generation connectivity, hyper-reality, innovations and startups, and sustainability.

AI is the biggest change since the arrival of the computer
The Chairman of TAITRA was very emphatic during his opening speech at Computex 2023, stating that Artificial Intelligence is the biggest change in human life since the arrival of the computer. He even recalls that the fair has existed since 1981, at the beginning of the computing era, and is ready not only to follow the next steps, but also to help lead the change.
According to him, many of the presentations seen at Computex this year were generated with the help of AI tools, and we can expect “out of this world” innovations from the more than 1,000 manufacturers from 26 countries present at the show. As highlights, of course, we have name brands such as Nvidia, ASUS, Acer, Qualcomm, ARM, Lenovo, Intel, Supermicro and many others, who will give presentations and participate in discussion forums over the next few days.
Computex increasingly sustainable
As part of a global effort, Computex’s organization is also concerned about the environment, and made this year’s fair the most sustainable ever. The COMPUTEX ESG GO initiative was presented! of activities aimed at ecological awareness. In addition to forums focused on the theme, we have specially designed “green” stands, and partners with international sustainability certification receive a special mark to show that they are part of a more conscious production chain.
In addition, TAITRA announced in partnership with Acer the launch of the “Missão Terra” app, where each download will be converted into the planting of a tree in the Amazon by the NGO One Tree Planted. The app tells a series of tasks and tips over 21 days to make the routine more sustainable.
