Maverick Games as a new studio
The head of Maverick Games and Creative Director is Mike Brown. He had previously held the creative director role at Playground Games. There are nine other people who are currently part of the team. The employees are currently not only from the Forza team, but also from EA and Sharkmob London. Take alongside Mike Brown Tom Butcher as Executive Producer, Matt Craven as CTO and Harinder Sangha as COO other administrative roles.
While Butcher and Craven have a past at Playground, Sangha has experience as co-studio head at Sumo Digital Lemington. This very town in England is also the seat of the new AAA studio. As far as financing is concerned, you can work with considerable start-up capital, as things currently stand. We are currently working on one Open World Title, which should ultimately come onto the market for PC and console. It remains to be seen how the studio will develop in the coming months.

Mike Brown issued a statement on the founding of the studio: “Our goal at Maverick Games is to become a studio that people love“, according to the creative director. “For gamers we are currently working on a very high quality title and for developers we are building a home where everyone is invited to take risks, be curious, creative, innovate, be yourself and all together – be a maverick.“
