The boxer Yordenis Ugás celebrated the recent victory of his friend and compatriot, also a boxer Erislandy Larawho retained his 160-pound world title at Premier Boxing Champions last Saturday.

Yordenis said that after the fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, they both went to talk and have a wine to “lower the adrenaline.”

“We almost never talk or see each other, but we have had an uninterrupted friendship for more than 20 years,” he expressed in his profile. Facebook.

Ugás remembered when they both won the 2005 world championship together in China on the same night.

“Congratulations to Erislandy for his good victory. Regardless of his age, he is as good and talented as the first day. Very proud to see him working at #SalasboxingAcademy with my coach with my brother,” he added.

Saturday, Erislandy Lara tipped a blunt knockout of Australian Michael Zerafa in the second round of the fight.

The 40-year-old Guantanamo-born, middleweight champion of the World Boxing Association, sent his rival to the canvas with a straight left to Zerafa’s chin. He managed to get up, but the judge did not allow him to continue.

Lara now holds a personal record of 30-3-3 with 18 KO’s.
