JACOB Hay tried to get his life back on track after giving up his drug dealing habits.
But when Amy Barlow’s life is in danger, he makes an important decision in Coronation Street.

The boy played by Jack James Ryan was rocked when his dad Damon (Ciarán Griffiths) shook the cobbles.
Things were made even more painful when Damon took over the Bistro.
Coming to ITV, he introduces Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) to Dan, a fruit and veg supplier, and tells him he can get a much better deal.
However, Jacob becomes suspicious when Damon tells him that Dan’s first delivery is due this afternoon…and that a package containing drugs will be hidden in the olive oil crate.
Later, Jacob feels stressed as he waits for the first drug delivery and a group of police arrive for a retreat with a sniffer dog in tow.
A case of olive oil is then delivered and Jacob manages to recover the package before leaving the Bistro.
But nothing gets past the sniffer dog barking at the crate, prompting PC Craig Tinker to head for Jacob’s apartment.
In later scenes, Jacob suffers the consequences as Damon gives him a beating.
The situation is dire, and Jacob learns that if he wants to protect his girlfriend Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), he must leave Weatherfield for good.
Jacob reflects and soon tells Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) how Damon smuggles drugs through the restaurant.

When he hears her entering the apartment, Jacob desperately claims he is selling drugs over the phone.
She’s horrified to think he’s up to his old tricks – what’s she going to do?
Will Jacob really leave the streets?
The youngster was initially not welcome in Amy’s life as her parents could not ignore his drug tendencies.
Jacob worked closely with Harvey Gaskell and even groomed Simon Barlow.
But as mentioned above, he cleaned up his act out of love for Amy, proving he was the perfect boyfriend for her.
Could he go back to save her?
