In recent years, 777 has made a name for itself in Norway with, among other things, two straight titles in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from the Telialigaen in 2021 and 2022. This year they bring together e-sports and music in Bergen together with Bergen live and a number of others actors.

– We have invited most of the people from the Norgestoppen

Already next Saturday, the first part of the tournament in CS:GO will start. It all starts with an open qualification where qualification further gives the opportunity to meet pre-invited teams chosen by the organiser.

Only the final of the entire tournament will be played during the event itself, the rest will be shown online beforehand.

– The participants in the tournament are hungry Norwegian teams who want to show themselves on LAN and throughout the tournament ahead of time on streaming services, and we have already invited most of them from the Norgestoppen. I hope more will follow until this weekend’s open qualifiers, says Fabio Enzo from 777.

Clinks into the headwind

The last few years have been difficult for Norwegian events regardless of industry. Many well-known LANs and tournaments have had to be canceled due to a lack of participants or poor finances. Bergen Games is resoundingly clear about the kind of audience they want.

When asked by Gamer.no, he answers the following:

Enzo poses with the Telialiga trophy for 777 from last year.

Michael Ray VC Angeles

– People who come to the Bergen Games on March 4 come there to experience professional e-sports, perhaps have a few lagers while they watch, and right after the trophy is lifted by the winning team on stage, you will be able to see live concerts with artists such as Marstein from Undergrunn, a completely wild Icelandic rapper called GKR, and more throughout the evening. We’ve never heard of anything like that before. It’s an event we’d dreamed of going to ourselves and hope people make the trip to check it out. We promise it will be a memorable day! Tells Enzo.

For those who want more of these types of events or other games, the answer is resoundingly clear:

– It’s an event we do in collaboration with Bergen Live and both we and they would have loved to be able to do it as an annual event, perhaps with more different games eventually too. If we can do more of this, it will boil down to whether people think it was fun or not. The most important thing for us is to create events for gamers and people who appreciate e-sports as entertainment. We hope to be able to do it in several different forms in the future, concludes the club manager in 777.

E-sports and music become one

The Bergen Games will be held on 4 March at USF Verftet in Bergen. On stage, you will first get to experience two of Norway’s best teams in Counter-Strike, before the music takes over with several well-known artists.

There will be a separate area for arcade games and an amateur tournament in FIFA with a cash prize in the Cinemateket.

You can find all practical information about Bergen Games on 777’s own websites.

NOK 100,000 in the prize pool

The prize pool is solid and should be tempting for many Norwegian teams who want to participate. One hundred thousand kroner will be awarded to the four best teams and the distribution is set up as follows:

  1. NOK 50,000
  2. NOK 25,000
  3. NOK 12,500
  4. NOK 12,500

For locals and visitors to Bergen, the semi-finals are shown live on the big screen from Kulturhuset the day before.

Registration for the open qualification can be found here.
