This Thursday a financial report was given on the last quarter of the fiscal year for Embracer Groupwhere CEO Lars Wingefors revealed how many games the company plans to release between now and 2028. These plans include new AAA releases from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montrealwhom they acquired last year along with their most important licenses.

During his presentation, the CEO Lars Wingefors said they plan to launch five AAA video games from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal by the year 2028, defining these games as experiences with more than 100 developers at the peak of their development, a significant marketing budget and an expected sales of at least 2 million units.

The past five years have seen the release of three AAA video games from these two studios, with Eidos Montreal delivering Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018 and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in 2021, while Crystal Dynamics made Marvel’s Avenger’s in 2021. collaboration with Eidos and released it in 2020.

According to Embracer’s new plans, over the next five years we would see 5 AAA video games from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, of which we only know two. The first is Perfect Darksince it is being developed by Crystal Dynamics together with The Initiative, while the second is the title of tomb Raider which will be published by Amazon. As for the other three games, for now we can only speculate.

Crystal Dynamics recently gave hope of a sequel or remake of Legacy of Kain, so this could be another project that would arrive by 2028. Last year Embracer Group said that it saw potential in making remakes, remasters and spin-offs of the licenses. which he bought from Square Enix, so we might as well see some Deus Ex or Thief.
