In the North and Center of the province, crimes in rural areas were reduced by 50 percent, through joint work between the settlers and the police units located throughout the province, through a security plan evaluated together to the rural associations that include yerba mate, livestock, tea and the wood industry.

According to police sources, in the case of cattle theft, the reduction was 90%, as a result of the strong presence of security grids, the apprehension of those who engage in this type of crime, and the constant interaction with the neighbors, forming thus a communication network where data is exchanged that served to reduce it.

The removal of green leaves from yerba mate was reduced by 67%. This is due to the control of loads carried out by the Police, the verification of remittances and the integrated work with the Inym regarding the control of the dryers and mills.

Also, in what corresponds to the illegal felling of wood, with the kidnapping of loads without guides that is carried out together with the Ecology and RNR area, including inspections of the sawmills and the permanent patrols carried out by the environmental protection divisions, has reduced so far this year by 25% compared to 2022.

Similarly, with regard to crimes against property, a 30% decrease in robberies was confirmed, a drop due to multiple police visits in those areas. Likewise, in the continuous rural operations different firearms are kidnapped, which are often used for illegal hunting or to commit other types of crimes.

“From the Ministry of Government and the Police Headquarters, work is being done with settlers from different sectors of the province, on the various issues they present at a formal table, to deepen criteria such as, for example, the installation of cameras in places that they create necessary, and in this way to monitor the entry or exit of the colonies. In addition, in these meetings, training is being generated on security and legal issues, which are dictated by professionals from the security force. All these joint actions are being fundamental for the prevention or in the investigation of crimes that have already occurred and the Police seek to clarify them,” they officially stated.

In relation to smuggling, they are working operationally with the federal forces, achieving great results that range from the interception of loads of grain entering the province irregularly or diverting their loads from the destination points. Another of the main interventions in the Misiones territorial operation was the smuggling of cigarettes, fuel, and the seizure of narcotics.

In this way, the Misiones Police will continue to reinforce this type of deployment with permanent controls, of the motorized troops distributed throughout the province, the divisions of rural crimes, infantry, special operations group and many other areas that articulate actions with the police stations located in fifteen regional commands.
