A Cuban mother begged for any information that will help you find the whereabouts of your child disappeared in Mexico in 2019.
Lorenzo Perez Mayuanwho would currently be 31 years old, disappeared four years ago in the border city of Nuevo Laredo, in the state of Tamaulipas, as reported by Balbina Mayuán, her mother, to CyberCuba.
Lorenzo, who was 27 years old at the time, 1.75 meters tall, thin, with white skin, had left the McAllen Immigration Detention Center, known as La Hielera, and had been taken to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to later be transferred to Monterrey, where he would remain until the date of his appearance in court to request asylum in September of that year.
However, July 26, 2019 was the last time his family and acquaintances heard from him.
According to his mother’s testimony, he was able to talk to him by phone that day, while he was on the international bridge in Nuevo Laredo, when he explained that he had a permit to stay in Monterrey.
That time, before saying goodbye, the young man told his mother that he would go buy cigarettes and some food before being transferred by bus to the other city.
Knowing nothing more about him, and anguished, the mother called several times the next day, until a Cuban woman answered and told her mother that Lorenzo had left his cell phone with her and had gone with four other young people to buy cigarettes, but they never came back.
Some rumors referred to by the woman indicated that a criminal group would have arrived in a truck and “shot to catch them” and the Cubans would have run in various directions to save themselves, but these are unconfirmed versions.
Despite having given visibility to his case and having filed a complaint of his disappearance, there is currently no information about Lorenzo and his mother is still waiting for any news from him.
