A new patch for the PC version of Cyberpunk 2077 is now available.

Patch 1.62 includes some new graphic gimmicks, including Overdrive mode, which is designed to make your PC sweat.

What does the new patch contain?

Full path tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 awaits you here under the full name Ray-Tracing: Overdrive Mode. And that is correspondingly hardware-hungry.

The whole thing is offered as a “Technology Preview”: “Because it’s so new and radically different from what we’ve been using before, we know it won’t be perfect from the start and players might run into some issues.” , is it[called”That’swhywedecidedtocallitaTechnologyPreviewThisisavisionofthefuturethatwewanttosharewithyouandwewillcontinuetoworkonandimprovethisfeature”

More Cyberpunk 2077 news:

This new mode is supported by graphics cards from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series (4070 Ti and better), as well as by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 (1080p, 30 fps).

With other ray tracing capable graphics cards you can at least create path tracing screenshots. If you have a corresponding graphics card with at least 8 GB VRAM, but the option is still greyed out, you should reduce the resolution. Path tracing for photo mode can be activated in the graphics menu.

Other technologies also come into play. Nvidia DLAA is an AI-based anti-aliasing mode designed to improve image quality on RTX graphics cards. Intel Xe Super Sampling 1.1 is also supported. This is an upscaling technology that uses machine learning to deliver improved performance with high image quality.

Last but not least, the benchmark has been improved to show more information in the results screen.
