Game News Dead Space: before its release, the remake plays it more epic than horrific

The time will soon come for the Dead Space franchise to make its big comeback: in other words, the excitement is in order for the many fans who discovered the saga in the 2000s, not to mention players who are simply curious to discover it. today. Precisely, a launch trailer has just been deployed to raise the temperature.

Blood and explosions

It was in 2008 that Glen Schofield proposed his vision of survival-horror with Dead Space: as everyone knows, it was a great success for Electronic Arts, giving rise to two sequels and spin-offs, as well as a film by ‘animation. Alas, sinceis, the saga fell into a long sleep before reappearing in the news in 2021: a remake of the first game will arrive very soon and this one looks frankly promising.

For once, Motive is in charge, an EA studio that had already offered the Star Wars Squadrons space experience. This Dead Space 2.0 will thus be based on a completely revised technique: everything has been redone from scratch, sometimes redesigned, to meet today’s standards. Moreover, the game will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One, favoring the new generation.

A Hollywood launch trailer

Dead Space first of the name insisted above all on the fear and the stress: this reboot will preserve the vision of it with a heavy atmosphere, magnified thanks to the tools of today. In particular, new gameplay situations will emergelike those phases where you have to choose between being able to breathe freely but being plunged into darkness… or having the light on, but with a limited oxygen charge.

The phases in weightlessness, too, will gain in depth since it will be possible to move freely in space, something impossible in the original work. Finally, we can also point out an enriched narration with sometimes rewritten dialogues and fleshed-out characters ; nothing but Isaac Clake will finally start talking and showing his face (remade for the occasion), where he was simply mute in the base game.

A few days before its release, Dead Space therefore releases the traditional launch trailer, to be found in our video player above. A trailer undoubtedly cut for the general public since here, it is indeed the explosive and adventurous side which is put forward, and not the pure and hard horror which then passes into the background. This will however not be the case in the final product, a priori.

Dead Space is expected on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on January 27.
