The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, sent, this Friday, January 6, 2023, a message of condolences following the death of the police brigadier, Houari Abderrahim, hit by a driver in Algiers while performing his duties.

In a message posted this Friday evening on his Twitter account, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune offered his sincere condolences following the death of police brigadier Houari Abderrahim, under the Security of Draria (wilaya of Algiers), hit by a driver during performing his duties on New Year’s Eve. “To God we belong and to Him we return”, wrote the Head of State in his message.

In this painful circumstance, the President of the Republic offered his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, a martyr of national duty, as well as to the entire family of National Security.

“May God grant His holy mercy to the martyr of national duty, the police brigadier, Houari Abderrahim, and welcome him to His vast paradise. My sincere condolences to the family of our deceased as well as to the whole family of the National Security”, wrote President Tebboune in his message.

Hit by a driver, a policeman dies in Algiers

In the same wake, it should be recalled that the police brigadier, Houari Abderrahim, under the Security of Draria (wilaya of Algiers), died yesterday, Thursday January 5, 2023. The deceased had been hit by a driver during the performing his duties in Algiers on New Year’s Eve.

Moreover, the police services arrested the driver in question, a young man of 29 years. While the competent judicial services ordered his placement in pre-trial detention for “intentional homicide and refusal to comply”.
