After noon on this Shrove Tuesday arose bottlenecks and delays especially on Highway 2 and Provincial Route 11 as part of the closure of the extra-long weekend. Thousands of tourists – mostly coming from the Atlantic Coast – converged on the same destination and on their way back the traffic overflow was felt, which was seen to be collapsed and with long waits of minutes, even hours. Motorists let them know from the same place where they were moving at a man’s pace through social networks.

As reported by the dealer AUBASAwere registered between 10 and 11 this Tuesday some delays in the toll of La Huella, of the provincial route 11, where the passage of 2,234 vehicles per hour; while in the opposite direction there were 844. Between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., the situation was similar on the way back to Capital, with 2,485 cars; while direction to the coast fell to 304.

Added to this was an accident with nine injuries that occurred after 5:00 p.m. on that route near Aguas Verdes.

At the same time, different tourists expressed themselves on social networks to inform about the traffic that advances “at a man’s pace” at the height of Dolores, on highway 2. In this sense, it was also possible to know that traffic controls are being carried out at different tolls on the road that connects different cities of the Partido de la Costa with the Federal Capital, which slowed down the return even more.

The collapse in the return lanes to the City reached such a point that many users showed on networks several drivers trying to get ahead of the long lines on the shoulder, which was a reprehensible attitude for tourists who were going back. “The forever alive”wrote one.

Meanwhile, on Highway 2, at noon, 773 vehicles per hour were counted at the Maipú toll, against 203 in the direction of the Atlantic coast; while at the Samborombón toll the passage of 2,234 automobiles in the direction of the City of Buenos Aires was registered, and 844 in the direction of Dolores and Mar del Plata. In the afternoon, the figure was maintained: 496 towards the Coast and 2,212 towards the City.

In order to facilitate the tourist exodus, the restriction on the circulation of trucks for this Tuesday is 18 to 20:59 on the Buenos Aires La Plata highway, highway 2 and provincial routes 11, 36, 56, 63 and 74 in the direction of CABA.
