Andrea Kramer, Managing Director of the Vorarlberg Family Association, was a guest on “Vorarlberg LIVE” on Wednesday.

The Vorarlberger Familienverband is one of the biggest stakeholders for families. It helps families with advice and contact points as well as offers of care and support, such as for families in particularly precarious situations. A balance sheet by the family association from 2022 shows that the financial and psychosocial burden in families has increased.

“On the one hand, the pressure has increased significantly due to the pandemic and inflation,” explains Andrea Kramer, head of the association, on the Vorarlberg LIVE show. “We don’t just hear about it, we are an advocacy group that works with families every day.” Ten employees of the family association visit the people at home every day and get an idea of their situation. “We all feel that the pressure is increasing,” she explains. The new condition imposed by the Minister of Labor to reduce social benefits for part-time workers is also making the already critical situation more difficult. “We are confronted with demands from the labor minister, and as someone who has worked in an interest group for so long, you shake your head,” says Kramer. Especially when you consider that most part-time workers are women who still have children to look after at home.
