Chihuahua.- The deputy Gabriel García Cantú will present this Tuesday an exhortation to the President of the Republic, to stop the insults he makes against the Chihuahua press from his morning conferences.

Deputy García Cantú rejected the accusations made by Andrés Manuel López Obrador since his last visit to Ciudad Juárez when he was confronted by social leaders on the border, as a result of critical publications in the media.

“The harassment and hate message that the head of the Federal Executive sends daily to the people of Mexico since his mornings is worrying, he practically applies the famous phrase: ‘if you are not with me, you are against me’, which puts them at risk to journalists not only from Chihuahuan, but from all over the country.

He stressed that last week the President once again pointed out that the Chihuahua media are trying to damage the relationship between the State Government and the Government of the Republic, using derogatory adjectives.

“Censorship of freedom of expression has been applied since morning and the most serious thing is that it is applied by the President of the Republic, a reporter who questions corruption issues, a reporter who will be summarily exhibited and ‘tried’ by the President.

The PAN parliamentary group supports in its entirety the proposed point of agreement, which will be presented and voted on in today’s session and which literally says:

The Sixty-seventh Legislature of the Honorable State Congress respectfully urges Mr. Andrés Manuel López Obrador President of the Republic, the foregoing with the intention that he cease the attack against Chihuahuan journalists, since insulting journalism entails an evident violation of the Rights Freedom of Expression and could result in a violation of the moral and physical integrity of people who practice journalism.
