The president Dina Boluarte announced that in the coming days it will convene the National Citizen Security Council (Conasec)in order to adopt “urgent, concrete and drastic” measures against common crime and organized crime, after the increase in extortion, assassinations by hit men and other crimes in the capital.

“I announce that in the coming days, through the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, we will convene the National Council for Citizen Security in order to contribute and adopt urgent, concrete and drastic actions against common crime and organized crime throughout the territory national”said Boluarte, who participated in the incineration ceremony for drugs seized until 2023.
In this sense, the president indicated that as a government they have a work plan in this regard “to put it under consideration and execute it quickly.”
“The fight against citizen insecurity cannot be addressed in isolation, but rather requires articulated work between the different sectors of the Executive, regional and local governments, the Public Ministry, the Judiciary and with the participation of civil society and the citizenship”accurate.
“Our country wants security and tranquility, our small and micro entrepreneurs, our merchants and all the workers want to open their stores and work centers without fear of being robbed and losing what they honestly earned with the sweat of their brow.”he added.
Boluarte also took the opportunity to “recognize and congratulate the professional work” of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), “our people made law in the daily fight against crime and crime.”
INCINERATION OF 14 TONS OF DRUG
The president participated in the supervision process of the first drug incineration of 2023 at the Diroes facilities in Ate. More than 14 tons of narcotics were incinerated by the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro) and other specialized police units.
She was accompanied by the Ministers of the Interior, Vicente Romero; and of Justice, José Tello; together with authorities of the PNP, as well as the Public Ministry and the Judiciary.
“From the first day of the government we said that we would be inflexible in this fight. This is the first drug destruction process of 2023, thanks to efficient and professional work by the police and political decision from the highest level, today we incinerate more than 14 tons of drugs”he referred.
“Let’s continue working together, all of us, to build a fairer and safer country, a developed and sustainable country; yes to life and no to drugs ended.
SALUDE DEFENDER ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ombudsman’s Office highlighted that President Dina Boluarte has announced that the first session of the year of the National Citizen Security Council (Conasec) will be convened in the coming days.
The institution welcomed the fact that the recommendation made to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) through official letter No. 050-2023-DP has been accepted in this way.
Through the document, addressed to the president of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola, the Ombudsman proposed that the first session of the year of the Conasec address, among other issues, the criminal events that have occurred in recent days and that have had a significant impact anxiety and fear in the population, such as the murders that occurred in San Miguel and against people engaged in sex work.
