From the Cathedral of Lima, monsignor Carlos Castillocurrent Archbishop of Limapresided this Sunday, January 15, at a mass for the numerous deaths in the protests against the government of Dina Boluarte. He took the opportunity to make a call for peace and rectification of acts to cease violence in the various regions of the country.
“Brothers and sisters, this Sunday that we have concluded some very difficult weeks in our homeland, we want today to dedicate this Mass to our deceased… All of them are our deceased, there is no alien death, we are all Peruvians”, he expressed.
“For this reason, united with the pain of all our brothers in different provinces and our brothers in the National Police We are going to pray today; remembering them, because they are worthy children of God that we cannot forget, ”he added.

In his speech, he also remarked that at the Catholic Church It corresponds to “a fundamental and spiritual reflection” and not linked to political, economic or social interpretations.
“We are not going to the rightnor to the left, nor to the center, we go to the bottom and that is our mission. But from the bottom we can make, be reborn, revive all social, political, economic, right, center and left conditions. Everything can be perfected if you go to the bottom of things, ”he said.
