The Frenchman, world champion 2021, is only 16th on the starting grid. He will have a lot to do to get closer to the top positions on Sunday.
For this fourth Grand Prix of the season, the Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) starts in the lead at home, Sunday April 30. Having arrived first in free practice on Friday, he will start on the front row, ahead of Jack Miller (KTM) and Jorge Martin (Ductai Pramac). Winner last year and defending champion, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) will start in 5th position.
On the French side, Johann Zarco (Ducati-Pramac), 8th in the sprint race on Saturday, started in 8th position. Disappointing on Saturday, Fabio Quartararo starts in 16th place and will have to struggle to get closer to the first places, he who did not mince his words. “It really is a nightmare, he admitted to the microphone of Canal +.
