At 23, Evan N’Dicka is still in his prime as a footballer, but he already has 162 professional games for Eintracht Frankfurt under his belt. A resolutely defending defender, left-footed, free of escapades and transfers. In short: An extremely exciting overall package.
Of course, N’Dicka’s management also knows this, which senses a top deal. So far, so understandable. However, the Frenchman’s entourage is quite bold – probably a bit too bold given the current situation. As journalist Christopher Michel from ‘Sport1’ reports, N’Dicka’s advisor is aiming for a total package of 50 million euros for his client.
15 million just for the signature
The demand specifically: 35 million euros salary spread over five contract years, plus a more than handsome earnest money of 15 million euros. The obvious calculation: What the SBU cannot collect as a fee should flow to the player and his environment for the most part.
“Serious interest”: Barça want N’Dicka
Signing fees in general are anything but unusual – even less so for free transfer players. However, the N’Dicka camp does not seem to be doing themselves any favors with such high expectations. According to Michel, interested parties are turning their backs in droves. Most recently traded clubs: FC Barcelona, FC Arsenal, Juventus Turin and FC Sevilla. However, it is quite possible that this list is already outdated.
A fitting story from the fall: N’Dicka’s management was negotiating with France’s series champion Paris St. Germain. In this context, too, there was talk of an unusually high earnest money requirement. The PSG bosses are said to have been so angry about the advance that they banned the player’s representatives from the house.
