Halle Bailey, the lead actress in Disney’s potential new blockbuster, has been showered with racial slurs ahead of its release. The look of the film and the appearance of the animal characters were also heavily criticized in some cases. With live-action adaptations of Beauty and the Beast (2017), Aladdin (2019) and The Lion King (2019), Disney managed to break the magic mark of 1 billion US dollars in sales.
