On Tuesday, April 19, 2023, Robert Habeck visited the booth of the young company from Wismar. Hoeller Electrolyzer develops highly efficient PEM electrolysis stacks, which form the core component of electrolyzers used to produce hydrogen.
Robert Müller, development engineer at Hoeller Electrolyzer, answered interested questions from the technically experienced politician.
“I’m impressed, stay tuned,” said German Economics Minister Robert Habeck when he visited the Hoeller Electrolyzer booth at the Hanover Fair on Tuesday.
The hydrogen industry is a key technology of the energy transition. The minister’s visit provided an opportunity to address key issues: simpler approval procedures and standards are essential for the rapid development of a hydrogen ecosystem. Clear framework conditions necessary for rapid further development of the technology. Habeck promised to provide support and spoke positively about the reconversion of stored hydrogen to electricity.
Andreas Götz, President of the Rolls-Royce Sustainable Power Solutions Business Unit, was present during the minister’s visit. In a strategic partnership, Rolls-Royce and Hoeller Electrolyzer are developing a a person-Hydrogen electrolyser.
The day before, Reinhard Meyer, Economics Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, visited the Rolls-Royce Power Systems stand, where a model of the electrolyser developed jointly by Rolls-Royce Power Systems and Hoeller Electrolyzer and the PROMETHEUS stack from Hoeller are on display. The minister had lively conversations with Hoeller development engineer Robert Müller about the high-performance PEM electrolysis stacks and asked about the development of the Wismar-based company, with whom he is in regular contact.
