On Sunday, May 7th, the Orchestra Svizzera italiana will be a guest at the Kulturhaus Dornbirn.
Dornbirn. The orchestra from the south of our neighboring country was enthusiastic under the direction of its chief conductor Markus Poschner the Dornbirn audience around three years ago. The end of the season of the Dornbirn Klassik concert series also offers the extraordinary opportunity to experience the mandolin in the concert hall. The concert begins at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are available from Dornbirn Tourismus and Stadtmarketing.
As part of the Lake Constance Festival, one of the most renowned Swiss orchestras is a guest in Dornbirn. The Orchestra della Svizzera italiana is one of fourteen permanent orchestras in Switzerland. As a former radio orchestra, it had a decisive influence on the musical culture in Ticino. Internationally renowned conductors have worked with the orchestra over the years. Since 2015 it has had a new home in the “Lugano Arte Cultura”, a center for music, theater and art that has an acoustically excellent hall.
The conductor Markus Poschner, who comes from Munich, has been leading the “Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana” to interpretative heights since 2015. In addition, the conductor, who is also known as an outstanding jazz pianist, leads the Bruckner Orchestra Linz with great success. The Israeli Mandolinist Avi Avital fascinates his audience with his energetic style and likeable charisma. In 2015, the musician released an album of mandolin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, which won the ECHO Award. This recording at the latest established the world fame of the inspiring musician.
