Dozens of people enter Egypt through the Rafah crossing

Reports on the war that Israel is waging against Hamas indicate that on Wednesday morning dozens of people were seen entering through the Rafah crossing, from Gaza to Egypt.

Egyptian ambulances have been lined up at the border to receive injured Palestinian patients.

It appears to be the first time those carrying foreign passports have been allowed to leave Gaza since the start of the war.

So far, no one has been allowed to leave the besieged enclave except four hostages freed by Hamas, although shelling has forced tens of thousands of people from their homes and food, water and fuel are in short supply.

This comes after countless airstrikes that left hundreds dead in a refugee camp in Gaza on Tuesday.

Hamas-controlled authorities blame the Israel Defense Forces for the explosion.

The Israeli military says the attack killed a senior Hamas commander.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to travel to Israel on Friday to consult with officials about the war against Hamas.

Meanwhile, the Al Jazeera television network, one of the few media outlets that continues to report from northern Gaza.

This will be his second trip to the Middle East in the last month.
