Moments of great commotion were experienced this morning in Abasto, after a serious fire broke out in a house located at 518 between 208 and 209 and everything was about to end in a tragedy.
Police sources confirmed 0221.com.ar that, in the midst of the commotion, a crew of firefighters arrived at the scene and it was the professionals who rescued an 18-year-old teenager who had been trapped in the house, completely engulfed in flames. As a result of the burns she suffered, she had to be urgently transferred to the Melchor Romero Hospital, where she remains in a delicate state of health at this time.
As reported, In the house there was also a little girl who was saved shortly before the arrival of the firefighters by the neighbors themselves. They were the ones who, after managing to get her out of the house, took her in a private vehicle to the Children’s Hospital.
The authorities reported that the firefighters became aware of the fire through a call from the neighbors and once in the place they deployed an important operation to extinguish the fire. After several minutes of tension, they finally managed to put out the flames, also preventing them from spreading to other houses in the area, although the victims’ house was practically completely destroyed.
So far the reasons that led to the accident are unknown, but investigators are working on the scene to determine what happened. The truth is that the flames caused serious damage inside the building.
