With the typical cup atmosphere, the Estudiantes fans gave the UNO stadium a scenery worthy of the match that their team came out determined to win against Tacuary from Paraguay. After Bragantino from Brazil’s impressive win against Oriente Petrolero from Bolivia, the entire red-and-red universe only asked to keep the three points and continue building a great task in their group of the Copa Conmebol Sudamericana.
The initial quarter of an hour was consumed without attractions. The guest positioned himself withdrawn and the venue did not have the necessary precision to generate genuine situations of danger in the Paraguayan area.
Pincha’s first important arrival was in the 19th minute, when Boselli brought it down with a category inside the area and gave up to Benedettti. The youth player, one of the most active, appeared from the left and shot without dominating the ball. His shot hit the side of the net, on Carlos Servín’s right post.
At 22′, it was Zuqui who tested his aim from outside the area, but his shot was easily saved by the visiting goalkeeper.
The clearest play by Estudiantes was after 26 minutes. Benedetti was unable to connect well with a cross from Matías Godoy and the ball ended up going over the crossbar. Estudiantes will face their first home game tonight in the 2023 Copa Sudamericana when they host Tacuary from Paraguay in search of a victory that will keep them at the top of Group C.
