Driver crashes to get the attention of the police and thwart his kidnapping in Zaragoza

MEXICO CITY (appro).- A driver crashed his car against another on Ignacio Zaragoza avenue, Iztapalapa mayor’s office, so as not to be kidnapped by two individuals who forcibly entered the State of Mexico; Both were detained by police officers from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC).

The events occurred yesterday on the aforementioned road near the Guelatao station on Line A of the Metro, in the Ejército de Oriente neighborhood.

According to a statement from the SSC, police officers were carrying out surveillance work at a point of the “Safe Passenger” operation, on the Ignacio Zaragoza road, when they saw that the driver of a blue vehicle was trying to get their attention as he continued his march.

In response to the alert, the uniformed officers followed the car and observed how, at the height of the Guelatao station, it hit behind a vehicle parked on the spot.

After the impact, two men quickly got out of the blue car and started running in different directions. That’s where the chase began that ended meters ahead where the police caught them.

When the police checked them, they found a short firearm with three chargers and 21 useful cartridges.

According to the SSC, the driver of the blue car told them that the two men got into his car by force, in the streets of the Santa Cruz Venta de Carpio neighborhood, in the municipality of Ecatepec de Morelos, in the State of Mexico. This is how they kept him detained for several minutes in said entity, until he crossed into Mexico City and, upon seeing the SSC vehicles, decided to ask for help.

The detainees, aged 23 and 17, were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent who will define their legal situation and carry out the investigations of the case.
