• The market is expected to e-learning or e-learning grow 7 percent, at an annual rate until 2025.

  • In Latin America, this sector will grow to reach more than 10 billion dollars, for the same year.

  • Since the year 2000, online training has grown by 900 percent worldwide.

In recent years, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, the world has been completely digitized, developing many sectors. One of these areas that have advanced thanks to technology is education, and it is that thanks to digitization terms such as the e-learning that has become an engine for this sector globally.

Before starting, It is important to define that e-learning means “electronic learning” and refers to all training activities that are given exclusively through a device connected to the network, what is usually called e-learning, teletraining, online training or virtual learning, according to Banco Santander.

In this sense, digitization in education is already a reality that goes hand in hand with the growth of the training offer and the number of students who prefer learning web-based.

According to data from a study by the International University of La Rioja (UNIR), in Spain, prepared by Gad3, revealed that the online segment in the study of degrees has increased by 5 percent, while in master’s degrees the increase is much more significant and reaches 26 percent. According to this same report, since the year 2000 Internet training has grown by 900 percent worldwide.

For its part, in Latin America, based on the projection of various studies, the growth hypothesis is exposed that would allow us to think the existence of some 984 thousand studentsunder hybrid modalities, which represented 6.4 percent of the regional enrollment.

Other magazine information e-learning Latin America maintains that it will be the region of the world with the highest growth in activity, where the rate of annual growth is approximately 14.6 percent, for related products and services.

e-learning is an engine in the acceleration of education

After all these data, it is normal to recognize that technology is emerging as the enabler of social mobility, employability, equity and, above all, a paradigmatic change in the labor future of Mexicans.

So an investigation of Ludus, highlighted that the promotion in the classroom of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, for its acronym in English) is and remains the most crucial imperative for future generations.

Likewise, the use of tools such as virtual reality learning is already a certainty, since in the educational sector, this methodology is proving to be an accelerator and an enhancer.

“By immersing yourself in a virtual environment, virtual reality aims to help users develop new skills and reinforce their understanding of existing ones. Those who create virtual learning experiences are capable of driving unique interactive ways for the brain to engage with the content and provide true real interactivity”, says the research.

As an example, the information shows that these digital tools can be very useful for medical students, in reconstructive, oncological, skeletal surgery or in a case presentation. “This allows students to more easily understand complex topics and gain more experience in analysis, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making without ever leaving the classroom.” adds.

“If we are more visionary, let us imagine that with the contribution of virtual reality the map of the human brain is reconstructed, the anatomical conformation of all the components would be incredible. We are talking about an unprecedented contribution, simulating in a more significant way for neuronavigation during surgery and learning the parts that make up the human brain in 3D for a preoperative model that facilitates surgical intervention in those patients who need it”, says the investigation.

In this sense, the virtual learning classroom (AVA) is also taking its way, which if used well, this knowledge is transported to the workplace, where industries such as construction, manufacturing, retail, logistics, transportation, among others, increasingly resort to training through the use of virtual reality, obtaining benefits such as cost reduction and the generation of virtual content in a short period of time.

Today, VPAs are often used instead of or as a complement to classrooms, as well as in work settings, for its multiple benefits such as allowing educators to create and share digital content with their students, as well as monitor and evaluate their progress.

“VPAs are a crucial tool for job training or training. Its features vary, but often include wikis, blogs, and even virtual reality (hardware and software),” he says.

And this is how technology continues to contribute to each activity we carry out today, where education is benefiting from these resources to improve humanity.
