Early on, five drivers get into the NASCAR playoffs

AUSTIN, Texas – After six races held, of the 36 calendar scheduled for 2024, five drivers have secured their qualification for the playoffs in NASCAR in the highest category, among whom is Daniel Suárez.

The Mexican driver is the only Hispanic who competes in the most important standard car series in the world.

On Sunday (7 pm), at the Richmond speedway, in Virginia, the seventh event of the championship will be run, the Toyota Owners 400.

Last date, at the Circuit of The Americas, in Austin, Texas, William Byron achieved victory and became the first driver to win two races this season in the Cup Series.

The other winners so far are Suárez, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell.

Meanwhile, patience and cunning in taking the lead on the final lap of overtime allowed Larson to win the NASCAR Featured Health 250 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series the day before.

For his part, Corey Heim, the driver of the No. 11 Tricon Garage Toyota, led 31 of the 46 laps and crossed the finish line 1.625 seconds ahead to achieve his first victory on the 3.41-mile mixed circuit in Austin, Texas. It was the sixth of his Truck Series career.
