EASTENDERS Star Matt Rabbitskas proudly showed off his incredible body transformation and said he was in the “best shape of his life”.

The actor – who played Anthony Moon from 2011 to 2012 and was at Hollyoaks last year as Alex Ramsdan, said maintaining a trim physique helped him land better job opportunities .

Matt, 33, said he achieved a toned body by learning more about nutrition and committing to the gym.

“You have to be prepared and I feel like I’ve changed a lot since my EastEnders days. I feel like I’ve grown up now, and I’m a man, and my castings are very similar,” he told the Daily Star.

“I feel like if I’m consistently in the best shape I have a better chance of getting the part and I was in top shape when Hollyoaks came knocking.

“They took me to Mallorca where we were filming the last episodes of Gary Lucy and they said ‘Matt, can you take your top off?’ and I was like ‘Yeah, I can’.

The actor said fitness has also helped him stay “mentally healthy” and changed his outlook on life.

“I feel good inside and it’s not about bragging but it inspires me to keep going and I love it when I go to the gym it’s my safe little place when I put on my music” , he added.

Last year, Matt spoke about getting a “normal job” between acting roles and opened up about his thoughts on being called a “failed actor”.

Matt previously took to Instagram to promote his own construction company called Brightside Builders.

He exclusively told The Sun: ‘At the end of the day when the lockdown happened and I started doing construction, they kind of liked it, not that they liked me. shamed, but they were like “a failed actor turned builder”.

“I was like why do you drop it when someone’s trying to make a living at the end of the day, but hey ho, that’s how it is!

“Those years are over and I’m back on TV, I’m back in the West End.”

It’s been 10 years since Matt last set foot in Walford as the cheeky chappy Anthony.

After his stint on EastEnders, the hunk landed roles in Dead Ringer, Red Rage, The Seven and Yardies.
