The business sector welcomes the road map of the Government of Santiago Peña for the economy and hopes that political pettiness will not stop the improvement plan.
Hector Cristaldopresident of the Union of Production Guilds (UGP)was one of the businessmen who participated this Wednesday in the presentation of “Paraguay, the resurgence of a giant”, by President Santiago Peña and his collaborators.
“It was a very clear presentation, it has a well-defined baseline that we are starting and the projections that they are wanting to implement, where to move forward. Now the great challenge will be governability, that there be no political, personal pettiness that stops the plan. You have to get the stones out of the way, because it will be difficult to leave the government and the business community alone,” he said in an interview with the GEN channel.
He pointed out that in recent years the economic growth of Paraguay has slowed down due to the pandemic and the drought, and that these are situations that must be managed and managed. “We all have to work together to be able to move forward,” he remarked.
In his opinion, there are problems with justice and the prosecutor’s officeTherefore, legal security and people’s security must necessarily be ensured. “These are problems that must be overcome, but they are processes, it will not change overnight, not because the president was changed, the bandits will stop being bandits. Whoever violates the law, be punished, and protect those of us who work within the framework of the law, ”he insisted.
For his part, Enrique Duarteholder of the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP)argued in a talk with radio Ñanduti that Paraguay is and is assigned to be the South American leader, so there are very high expectations in the new administration of the State.
“You have to pay them with everyone’s work. The transition towards development requires the work of everyone, not only the Executive and its ministers, but also civil society and the business community,” he said.
