On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the command of the National Gendarmerie has implemented a series of security measures to maintain the climate of tranquility and serenity across all the wilayas of the country during the two days of the religious festival.

Preventive measures have been adopted to ensure the safety of citizens during their travels. The places affected by these measures are the roads leading in particular to mosques and places of leisure.

All units and formations of the National Gendarmerie have intensified their patrols and set up control and inspection points to ensure the fluidity of road traffic and secure public and private transport. Train stations and passenger transport stations are also affected.

Citizens are called upon to respect the highway code and can contact the toll-free number (1055) for any assistance or local quality service.

Measures taken by the wilaya of Algiers on the occasion of Eid

The wilaya of Algiers has also established preventive security plans on the occasion of Eid this year. These plans also include measures to protect and ensure the safety of citizens in general.

Patrols, on foot and on horseback, will be deployed in crowded places such as markets, mosques and cemeteries. Additional police forces will also be deployed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on main and secondary roads.

The security cameras installed in the streets and public places will allow to have a vision on different places of the capital. Awareness campaigns have also been carried out to prevent road accidents and promote safety.
