On the occasion of ugly el-fitrmany public figures expressed their wishes to the Algerian and Muslim people in general. After the President of the Republic, it is the turn of another political figure to wish a good Eid to the Algerians: US Ambassador.
Howeverthe latter did not contented to express her wishes, she also honoring a tradition which is particularly close to the heart of the Algerian people.

The US ambassador carries on the tradition of “almsgiving” from Eid to children
Ugly el-fitr has finally arrived and the youngest as well as the oldest are adorning themselves with their most beautiful assets to honor this sacred celebration. US Ambassador Moore Aubintook the lead in congratulating the Algerian people on the occasion on the Embassy’s Instagram account. In a short video, we can see her accompanied by her husband, both dressed in traditional Algerian outfits to mark the occasion. She wishes a happy holiday to the Algerian people, but does not stop there.
Wanting to offer gifts to the children on this occasion, she quickly changes her mind after a few explanations from her team. Indeed, the tradition in Algeria is that the younger are granted money on the occasion of Eid el-fitr.

These are thus several tickets which are distributed on the few lucky toddlers present at the embassy that day. A gesture with strong symbolism, which demonstrates the involvement of the diplomat in the culture of her host country.
