After what was the intense rain that surprised the Region and the AMBA since early morning, this is how the weather will continue for the remainder of Friday and the weekend.
“In La Plata, a temperate and cloudy environment. Probable light rains, until early Saturday morning. Then improving with a slight drop in temperatures, pleasant weather,” they indicated this afternoon from the La Plata Hydrometeorology Directorate.
For tomorrow, Saturday, the agency forecasts a day with cloudy to partly cloudy skies, winds from the east sector and a temperature that will be between a minimum of 21 degrees and a maximum of 30 degrees.
Meanwhile, on Sunday partly cloudy skies to partly cloudy are forecast, winds from the northeast sector rotating to the east and a minimum temperature of 20 degrees and a maximum of 30.
ALERT IN NINE PROVINCES
The National Meteorological Service (SMN) today issued orange alerts for strong storms accompanied by “very intense gusts and hail fall” for almost all of Tucumán, south of Jujuy, the central area of Salta, the south of Catamarca and a large part of Santiago del Estero.
Yellow alerts are also in effect for storms of varying intensity for sectors of the province of Salta, Jujuy, Catamarca, the northeast of La Rioja, all of Formosa, the southeast of Santiago del Estero, the north of Santa Fe and a large part of western Currents.
The areas affected by the orange alert cover a large part of Santiago del Estero, affecting towns such as Figueroa, West Alberdi, West Copo, West Moreno, Pellegrini, East Alberdi, East Copo, East Moreno, Atamisqui, Banda, Capital, Choya, Loreto, Ojo de Agua, Robles, San Martín, Silípica.
This same alert extends to the Tucuman towns of Burruyacú, Capital, Cruz Alta, Famaillá, Graneros, La Cocha, Leales, Simoca, Trancas, Yerba Buena, Chicligasta lowlands, Juan Bautista Alberdi lowlands, Lules lowlands, Lowlands of Monteros, lowlands of Río Chico and lowlands of Tafí Viejo.
In Salta, this alert applies to the areas of Capital, Cerrillos, Guachipas, La Viña, the lower area of Chicoana, the lower area of La Caldera, the lower area of Rosario de Lerma and the mountainous area of Cafayate.
For its part in Jujuy, the areas that are under this alert are El Carmen, Ledesma, Palpalá, San Antonio, San Pedro, Santa Bárbara, Valle Grande, the lower area of Doctor Manuel Belgrano and the lower area of Tilcara.
Meanwhile, Catamarca remains under alert in the areas of Ambato, Ancasti, Capayán, Capital, El Alto, Fray Mamerto Esquiú, La Paz, Paclín, Santa Rosa, Valle Viejo and the mountainous area of Pomán
“The coverage area will be affected by storms, some will be locally strong or severe, with accumulated precipitation values between 40 and 70 millimeters, which may be exceeded locally. The storms will be accompanied by very intense gusts, hail fall, strong activity electricity and abundant waterfalls in short periods”, indicated the SMN.
The orange level implies “dangerous meteorological phenomena for society, life, property and the environment”, so it is recommended to stay in closed constructions such as houses, schools or buildings; stay away from electrical appliances; avoid the use of wired phones; avoid driving through flooded streets; and cut off the power supply if there is a risk of water entering the house.
Also, if you are traveling, the SMN suggests staying inside the vehicle, since automobiles offer excellent protection.
In turn, the national body issued a very short-term warning for strong storms with heavy rains, gusts and occasional hail that will be valid for three hours for the Santiago cities Banda, Choya, Guasayán, Jimenez, at 5:26 p.m. Rio Hondo, Robles, San Martin, Santiago del Estero, Silipica.; while for the Tucumán province, in Cruz Alta, Graneros, Leales and Simoca.
On the other hand, the SMN also issued yellow alerts for less intense storms for the entire province of Chaco, eastern Corrientes, and central and northern Salta.
Likewise, the warning applies to the center and south of Santiago del Estero; the entire territory of Tucumán; the center and south of Catamarca, a sector of La Rioja that includes the capital city, Arauco, Castro Barros and Sanagasta; and an area of Salta that affects the capital and the valleys of Cachi, Cafayate, Chicoana, La Caldera, La Poma, Molinos, Rosario de Lerma and San Carlos.
In turn, this alert extends to the La Rioja towns of Arauco, Capital, Castro Barros and Sanagasta; in the center of Catamarca in the towns of Monte de Andalgalá zone, Monte de Belén zone, Monte de Pomán zone, Monte de Santa María zone, Monte de Tinogasta zone, Monte de Andalgalá zone, Monte de Belén, Pomán mountain area, Santa María mountain area and Tinogasta mountain area.
Also be alert, it extends to the Salta areas of Valles de Cachi, Valles de Cafayate, Valles de Chicoana, Valles de La Caldera, Valles de La Poma, Valles de Molinos, Valles de Rosario de Lerma, Valles de San Carlos, Anta, General Güemes, La Candelaria, Metán, Rosario de la Frontera, General José de San Martín, Yunga de Iruya, Yunga de Orán and Yunga de Santa Victoria.
In turn, the yellow alert extends to the center and north of Jujuy and the center and east of Corrientes and the center and north of Santa Fe.
The areas under yellow alerts will be affected by storms, some locally strong, with intense gusts, significant electrical activity, hail and abundant rainfall in short periods of time, the meteorological agency indicated.
The yellow level indicates “possible meteorological phenomena with a capacity for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities,” the SMN specified.
