El Taiger arrested for assault and armed robbery

Cuban reggaeton singer José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, known as El Taiger, was arrested early Sunday morning for armed robbery and assault, according to police records.

The report says the popular singer was arrested at 5:41 a.m. on Sunday.

The circumstances of the arrest are unknown, but the influencer “Un Martí to Durako” indicated that El Taiger was allegedly arrested following an accusation from his girlfriend.

Bail was set at $1,000 for these crimes.

The singer was out on $2,500 bail for a previous cocaine possession charge, police records show.

Records show he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGKCC).

The artist has gained notoriety on the international music scene with several hits in the reggaeton genre.

The most recent hit is “Marca Mandarina”, where he collaborates with another musician from the island. This could be the song of the summer and has already surpassed 11 million views on YouTube.

Despite his success in music, El Taiger faces a Difficult legal landscape in the United States:Last June the reggaeton singer was arrested for having an expired driver’s license and for committing another crime, while in April he was arrested in Miami-Dade for Possession of substances and alcohol.
