Relatives and friends of Magalí Arzamendia and Daiana Fernández held a demonstration demanding justice for the death of both in two road accidents.

The rally took place in the Sarmiento square at Kilometer 9 of Eldorado, and the participants blocked San Martín avenue to make the claim heard.

Daiana Fernández’s father, Héctor, when speaking, recalled the numerous deaths that had occurred as a result of road events and called on those present to reflect on what could have been “of any young person, son, brother or cousin.”

The death of Daiana, a kindergarten teacher, occurred on November 8 of last year on Provincial Route 17 when she was traveling to her workplace and collided head-on with a van belonging to the Misiones Court of Accounts.

For their part, relatives of Magalí Arzamendia expressed themselves in the same vein, recalling that the young woman was run over while being transported as a companion on a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend. As a result of the Magalí crash, she suffered several injuries that forced her to be hospitalized, dying a few days later.

The driver of the Fiat Strada vehicle that ran over them fled, leaving the vehicle a few blocks away, turning up hours later at the police station where the breathalyzer test gave 1.39 g/l of blood alcohol.

The driver is still in custody while the investigation continues.
