The National Electoral Chamber (CNE) warned this Thursday about the circulation of a false website to consult the provisional register of the 2023 elections that asks for credit card information.

From the body dependent on the National Electoral Justice, they recalled that for the provisional register “Credit card information is NOT requested”because the consultants were being victims of Phishingwhich is a cyberattack and consists of a form of theft in which criminals impersonate legitimate entities such as banks, public offices, or the support areas of electronic commerce platforms, to then convince people on the internet that they share personal data with you.

“The National Electoral Chamber warns the public that a FALSE publication of the voter registration requesting credit card information is circulating. The only official website for the voter registration is reported in a statement by the official agency.

And he completed: “Other data is not requested other than the DNI, gender and town of the citizen who makes the query.”

What is the provisional register for?

The provisional register is used by the citizen to verify that their registration data appears correctly. In case of errors, it is the instance to make the claim.

The consultation of the padron can be done in http://padron.gob.arin www.electoral.gob.ar or on the line 0800-9997237.

Currently, the register was published on May 5 and will be available until May 19, inclusive, “its purpose is that citizens authorized to vote can make inquiries and make the pertinent claims about their registration data,” reported the CNE.
