The @ElonJet account has just published the annual carbon footprint of the American billionaire as well as the details of all the flights made by the latter this year. Brazil, France, Norway, Mykonos or Doha, the billionaire traveled the entire Earth in 2022. Its carbon footprint is exploding.

About a month after being censored by the social network, the @ElonJet account – since resurrected – has just published all of the trips taken by Musk this year. It is clear that the 134 flights carried out by the billionaire in 2022 polluted a lot. These are more than 1,800 tonnes of CO2 which were released into the atmosphere due to the transport of the current owner of Twitter. The 134 flights of Musk’s Gulfstream G650ER Jet have allowed him to travel the world: World Cup finals in Qatar, vacations in Mykonos, stays in France.

There are also more unusual flights (and dramatic from an environmental point of view) such as a flight lasting a total of 6 minutes which could surely have been easily replaced by a less polluting route. To date, we do not know the reasons for this flight, it could be due to a repositioning of the plane at Long Beach airport. Or maybe the billionaire forgot his iPhone charger in his hotel room. We’ll never know. All the trips made in 2022 have an operating cost estimated at more than $2.6 million. $1.1 million spent on fuel alone.

Musk deletes @ElonJet account from Twitter, he is reborn under a different name

This is one of the many controversies that have marked the takeover of Twitter in recent months. Last December, Jack Sweeney’s @ElonJet account was deleted from the social network by Twitter teams. The reason Musk mentioned was about his safety. To comply with the new conditions of use of the social network and not to deliver compromising information on the billionaire’s position, the new account entitled @ElonJetNextDay will publish the same information, with a 24-hour lag. A trick found by Sweeney allowing him to continue to denounce the environmental cost private jets while fulfilling Twitter’s house rules.
