Tekken 8 announces the return of Raven and the arrival of Azucena, the new Peruvian fighter

Two more characters are coming to Tekken 8: Raven who returns as a veteran and Azucena, a new Peruvian fighter. 2023 and 2024 promise to be great years for fighting games with notable releases like Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 and obviously Tekken 8.

Throughout 2023, the game’s roster of fighters has been progressively revealed, reintroducing iconic characters such as Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, and King, along with notable additions like Claudio Serafino and Leroy Smith from Tekken 7. Jun Kazama, absent for more than a decade, also returns in Tekken 8. During the EVO fighting game tournament, Bandai Namco presented two previews about the return of Raven and the appearance of a new fighter named Azucena.

Introduced in Tekken 5, Raven is an enigmatic UN ninja secret agent. In Tekken 8, this fighter returns with his own Ninjutsu style, quickly approaching his opponent in close combat. Deploy his ninja art and create shadowy clones to shock his opponent.

TEKKEN 8 — Azucena Reveal & Gameplay Trailer

Azucena, the brand new Peruvian fighter, makes her debut in Tekken 8, being the first character of that nationality in the game. She is characterized as the “queen of coffee” and with her unique style she stands out quite a bit. Azucena enchants fans, especially in Latin America. Her ability to avoid attacks is something that captivates the community.

Both trailers showcased stage destruction mechanics, where the battlefield transforms based on damage dealt. The next installment in the iconic fighting series, Tekken 8, is still in development. Fans of the series can look forward to enjoying the game in all its glory on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
