On Friday (23), Volkswagen do Brasil produced the last units of the Gol hatch and the Voyage sedan. The historic vehicles were manufactured at the automaker’s plant in Taubaté, São Paulo, a place that was immortalized for giving life to the ultimate models.
The factory employees involved in the process made publications on social networks with records of the latest cars. The last Gol produced was a basic model in platinum gray and with a 1.0 MPI three-cylinder engine and manual transmission.
In November, Volkswagen presented the last version launched for the Gol?? Called “Last Edition”, the series had a thousand units produced before November and has several exclusive details for fans of the historic model.
The VW Gol was the best-selling car in the history of the country and was on the market for an incredible 42 years with more than 8.6 million units produced. The model was sales leader in the national market for 27 consecutive years, between 1987 and 2014??
The Voyage, a sedan derived from the Gol and which did not receive a special farewell version produced, had its last unit manufactured as a basic version in silver. The car was first released in 1981, about a year after the hatchback.
The automaker has not yet confirmed what will be the destination of the last Gol and Voyage. The units can be offered for sale on the market, be on display at the brand’s museum in São Bernardo do Campo or go to the Volkswagen museum in Germany.
It is worth mentioning that the two models were discontinued because they are no longercompatible with the country’s new pollutant emissions and safety regulations, according to VW. The parts replacement service will remain as normal, guarantees the automaker.

Gol is out and Polo Track is in. The new version of the hatch will take the place left by the iconic car with the mission to maintain the same success. The Voyage sedan should naturally be replaced by the Virtus, which will receive a restyling in 2023.
