After the basic suppliers were able to offer comparatively low prices for a long time during the energy crisis, this has recently changed. You can get cheaper tariffs from some other providers – regardless of whether you want to buy green electricity or not. However, since the prices of the basic suppliers differ regionally, this does not apply everywhere.

This change in costs can have consequences for people who have switched to basic services because of cheaper prices. You now have to pay more than in alternative tariffs. However, short-term fluctuations have little impact on most consumers. Because: If you are an existing customer, you pay the price agreed in the contract. However, contracts are not a guarantee for lower prices either. At the beginning of the year, even existing customers have to dig deeper into their pockets.
